Plasma is tested and treated to reduce the risk of it containing infectious agents, but there is still a small possibility it could transmit disease. FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Centruroides scorpion antivenom will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant. It is not known whether Centruroides scorpion antivenom passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. In an emergency situation it may not be possible before you are treated with Centruroides scorpion antivenom to tell your caregivers if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Make sure any doctor caring for your pregnancy or your baby knows you have received this medication. Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Some of the signs of a reaction to Centruroides scorpion antivenom may occur up to 2 weeks after you receive this medication. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Use Antivenom Anascorp exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Treatment with Centruroides scorpion antivenom should be started as soon as possible after the first appearance of symptoms of a scorpion sting such as slurred speech, increased salivation, vomiting, feeling short of breath, abnormal eye movements, or loss of muscle control.
