How do i change fsb speed

I put everything together and it worked nicely, but things operating systems and games weren't loading nearly as quickly as I had expected, I've got 2 gb of DDR2 ram. Last edited by klines; at PM.

Reason: made title more specific. There should be a setting called "memory speed" or alike, don't know how it's called in your BIOS. It should be set to , then your memory would run at its rated speed when the CPU runs stock as well. Currently not OCing due to abundant power! Flash and memory Vmod instructions here ADO. I have it set to DDR2 - and when I boot, it says it detects it, and it has the right speed.

But its performing at half its advertised speed because the FSB is bottlenecking it. But it performs much more slowly. Tomorrow I'll call tech support its Sunday and see if they have any suggestions.

This ISN'T a problem with my cooling. The CPU is just under too much strain! Do you see what I'm telling you? Don't be surprised that it's burning up without active cooling. Get a fan on that CPU before you do anything worse to it. Perhaps you weren't managing as well as you thought. What board did you have previously?

It could have been reporting the temperatures wrong. Not sure - it came with my, er, pre-assembled Dell. I never looked at the temperature, but I know for sure that it never got hot enough to turn off the computer when I was sitting fiddling around with the BIOS!

I know, I'm going on the fact that it only shut down due to overheating once during a 32 player match of UT :p. Anyway, how stupid have I been? The Dell machine had a green cowling that made the case fan focus on and act like a CPU fan. What's the best choice for me? And by that I don't mean the most expensive.
